Our story
Alexander James Associates is an architectural and building surveying practice, located in the grounds of the Catton Hall estate on the border of Staffordshire and Derbyshire.
We are regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and are also a registered practice of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT).
We are a team of dedicated, knowledgeable and personal chartered professionals who provide architectural and building surveying services and our work extends across Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Birmingham, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and further afield nationally. We give each client the dedication and time that their project requires and always strive to exceed our client's expectations and requirements.
With over three decades of combined experience and knowledge in a variety of projects and sectors, from new build, extension or refurbishment and remodelling projects within the residential, conservation and heritage, commercial, education, care and ecclesiastical sectors, Alexander James Associates can help you achieve the most from your project.

Lichfield, Staffordshire
Set in a conservation area just outside of Lichfield, our brief for this detached property and coach house was to create a bright space for open plan living whilst being sympathetic to the existing architecture.
Our architectural design concept was to design a part single, part two storey extension with glazed windows to create a welcoming, light and airy kitchen/dining area and to reconfigure the upstairs layout for modern family living.
