Our story

Paul Hughes and David Shaw established PAD Architects in January 2010, a partnership combining over 40 years of work in private architectural practice. This extensive collective knowledge allows us to offer high quality services to private and commercial clients, supporting them throughout the process from initial design brief to building completion.

PAD’s objective is to provide contemporary yet timeless architectural solutions to meet and exceed our client’s expectations, whilst always understanding and responding to the financial and time demands of that particular project.

We are committed to tailoring each project to the particular needs of you and the site, allowing for a creative, personal, realistic scheme. This tailored service allows us to offer a bespoke, solution focused design for your home or space; our 40 years’ experience in London means we know what works. We offer you our creativity, success and local knowledge and combine it with your own knowledge and dreams to create something special.

Based in Putney, we work across all London boroughs and as such have excellent, practical knowledge of local planning policies and procedures. Recent work on domestic and commercial projects have been completed in the following boroughs: Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, Richmond-upon-Thames, Wandsworth, Westminster, Ealing, Southwark, Kingston-upon-Thames and Merton.

We offer a full range of architectural services from feasibility studies through to contract administration and site inspection and we tailor our services to meet your requirements.
