Our story

Larissa Johnston Architects is a London based architectural studio delivering intelligent, pragmatic, original and inspiring design solutions. Our bespoke residential and housing projects include refurbishment, alterations, extensions, and new-build.

Quality is at the heart of everything we produce. This is achieved through an intensely rigorous design process alongside an open and exploratory dialogue with our clients and project teams.

From the outset we work closely with clients and users to develop comprehensive briefs and extract the key aims of projects, both practical and aspirational. We have built good working relationships with a trusted network of consultants, suppliers and contractors who we draw on to meet the specific needs of projects. We collaborate extensively throughout the design and building process to ensure that cohesive, appropriate and unique solutions are achieved.

We understand that many projects have challenging programmatic and budgetary constraints and we have extensive experience of delivering successful and exemplary buildings from within these.

We provide full or partial Architectural Services across all stages of projects from Feasibility through to Construction, tailored to our client’s requirements. We have achieved successful planning outcomes across a wide range of London boroughs including Islington, Southwark, Camden and Greenwich as well as a number of others in London and beyond.

The practice was founded in 2015 by Larissa Johnston, who brings to the practice 20 years of experience. Prior to establishing LJA, Larissa worked on a number of multi-award-winning projects for leading practices in London and Australia. At Stanton William’s she was Project Architect for the new King’s Cross Square in London.
