With so many amazing options of colour, design and shape, there is so much tile choice, allowing us to become bolder with our choice of tiles when we are renovating.
With fantastic styles to give your home some individuality and personality, we choose some of our very favourite styles to give you some serious tile inspiration!
Terrific terrazzo tiles
Terrazzo patterns throughout the home are big news in 2020! We have seen amazing tiles, worktops, splashbacks and even wallpaper in a terrazzo finish, all of which create such a super and fun look.
Terrazzo looks amazing in bold and bright colours, like pinks and purples, but it's equally as striking in greys, silvers and bronze.
We absolutely love these tiles in the shower below, where the owners has beautifully mixed a grey and bronze terrazzo pattern with the concrete effect tiles and brass shower fittings. It's understated whilst being so modern and up to date - brilliant inspiration if you are thinking about a new bathroom

Feature hexagonal tiles
How stunning are these 25mm hexagonal tiles from London Mosaic?! The detail is just beautiful and the flower motifs match the colour of the bespoke kitchen perfectly, adding more detail and texture to this already stunning kitchen.
The tile style is so modern looking but works perfectly in this period property. Small hexagonal tiles are not only appearing on kitchen floors, but hugely popular in the bathroom (see the Lily Pad photo!) and on entrance steps.

Wonderful art deco patterns
Bold patterned tiles are so popular and can create a really modern look. We absolutely adore the tiles in the bathroom below by threeboysandapinkbath on Instagram.
The colour is so strong and we love the fabulous art deco pattern - combined with the pink bath and copper taps gives such an amazing look.

Lily pad tiles
We have seen Lily pad tiles grow in popularity over the past couple of years and they continue to be one of the biggest tile trends in 2020. These are really popular in the bathroom in deep blues and greens, and we also love pinks in the kitchen. If you love the look but are not quite brave enough for the strong colour, go for a light grey which will blend into a neutral space.
We love this bathroom in the home of renovating_the_house on Instagram. These modern tiles look so striking in this period home and we love them combined with the small format hexagonal tiles. This bathroom is a perfect example of how to embrace modern trends whilst still looking classic.

Industrial looking concrete effect tiles
The industrial trend is not going anywhere and is so popular all over the home. Beautiful concrete floors, brass taps, Crittall style doors and statement lighting really completes the look.
Concrete flooring is an expensive option and also requires maintenance, so it's not for everyone. If you are unsure about a poured concrete floor, then large format concrete effect tiles are a great option. We totally love the look created by @the_house_acc on Instagram - it's a nod to the industrial trend whilst still looking super homely.

Stylish penny tiles
The Victorian style of tiles are making a huge comeback and look amazing on anything from splashbacks to fireplaces, however we really do love them on the floor. What is so fun about penny tiles is that you can use them to add a bit of personality too, like this kitchen floor from thehousethatblackbuilt on Instagram.
Penny tiles work really well combined with another style of tile too, such as a metro tile, or stand out with a striking black border in the photo below.

Traditional heritage tiles
You might be lucky enough to live in a property where you peel back a carpet and find some amazing Victorian tiles that can be restored. But you can also get some stunning patterned tiles which look amazing in a hallway, like these ones from hannahandhome on Instagram.
They create a real focal point without being too dominating and look wonderful against the dark front door. These would also look amazing around a fireplace too!

Combine metro tiles with a strong pattern
Metro tiles continue to be so popular and look amazing mixed with a strong pattern or detailed design. We absolutely love the bathroom in the home of the Architects Wife on Instagram, where the simple white tiles have been mixed with a traditional pattern - combined with the rolltop bath and black accents gives a modern twist to a period looking bathroom. Tiles available from Metro Tiles.
